Dear Investors
|
What advantages for investment can Hungary and
Nógrád county offer?
In the past years the foreign companies working in Hungary have been exceedingly successful. This is shown by the fact, that most of them have increased their production volumes and the number of products made here several times over their original plans. Major multinational companies are making parts of their products in Hungary. They have settled their R&D divisions in the country and their plants (e.g. GM-Opel and Volkswagen-Audi engines) are the most effective here. Hungarian specialists and technicians are characterised by the high level technical culture and readiness for innovation. A well-trained and flexible working force is available in relatively large numbers. A part of the foreign companies are making production in three or four shifts, nevertheless they encounter no difficulties in finding staff ready for it. Among the countries waiting for EU accession, Hungary is the one having most of the incoming working capital. The number of investors is a reference attesting that they have met their goals. The stable conditions in the country and the reliable working environment are coupled with a cost level lower than in Western Europe. The 18 % of company tax on profit is considered very low. Depending on the volumes of investment and number of employees, investors are entitled to get further tax preferences. When having large volumes and number of employees, this tax figure can be as low as 0 % for even 10 years. The public utilities, telephone lines, GSM and channels of data transmission are fully available. The system of electric power supply has a reserve of around 30 %. |
In the middle of 2001 among the countries waiting for EU accession Hungary has completed most of the rounds of negotiations. Between 2004 and 2006 the country is expected to be an EU member in the first round. The companies investing before the time of accession can utilise their company preferences until their expiry even after joining the European Union. Since 1977 the Hungarian yearly GDP increase is continuously over 4 %, with the GDP increase of the industry over 8 %. From Budapest, the capital of Hungary, you can get to Nógrád county by car within 90 minutes. While in Budapest there is already a shortage of labourers (the registered rate of unemployment is 3.3 %), Nógrád county has considerable reserves of labour force (the registered rate of unemployment is 14.2 %). In contrast with the crowds and pollution caused by heavy traffic in Budapest, Nógrád county is a clean and quiet area for investments and living here. And the countryside with verdant hills and lush forests offers many sights worth visiting. When there is an intention to make an investment, the work involved in acquiring the permits and making the construction can be made in a short time. The production halls of several companies active in Nógrád were completed in less than half a year. The conditions of logistics in the county are very good. Nógrád is close to Budapest and has a common border with the Slovakian Republic. Nógrád county is a region of investments where you are most likely
to realise your business goals. Come and visit our towns and villages
- you will find the right location for your plans. It will be our pleasure to welcome you. Ottó Dóra |
